Strong Advocate for Enabling Young People

Theresa is passionate about helping youth reach their potential and is a strong advocate for enabling young people to have access to meaningful pathways into employment. Theresa has worked on multiple youth employment programmes and transition projects across the New Zealand government and education sectors for over 11 years.

Prior to her time at Skills, Theresa worked as a strategic programme manager establishing and delivering multiple youth employment programmes across Auckland, New Zealand. More recently she has worked with the Ministry of Education in Myanmar to develop foundation qualifications and a delivery system for vulnerable out-of-school and working youth.

Theresa also led the strategy, development and delivery of a youth employment initiative in New Zealand called Red Shirts in the Community, targeting young people not in employment, education or training (NEET) and transitioning them into employment.

When she’s not working as a Consultant for Skills International, Theresa manages Workchoice and Gateway, secondary school transition programmes in New Zealand.
